1. About Our Workshops
Chopstick Hanoi provides guided, hands-on chopstick making workshops in Hanoi, Vietnam. Each standard workshop lasts approximately one hour.
Participants select their wood and receive instruction in shaping, sanding and finishing their own pair of wooden chopsticks. All standard materials, equipment, instruction and a take-home pouch are included.
Optional laser engraving and selected specialty woods are available for additional charges, subject to availability.
2. Reservations and Confirmation
Reservations may be made through our website, authorized booking platforms or directly with Chopstick Hanoi.
A reservation is confirmed when the customer receives a booking confirmation containing the workshop date, time and booking reference.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information and checking their booking details. Please contact us promptly if any information is incorrect.
3. Prices and Payment
Our standard workshop price is 370,000 VND per person, including applicable VAT.
The total price, applicable currency and any mandatory charges will be displayed before a booking is confirmed.
Customers may be offered the following payment methods, depending on availability:
- Pay on arrival: Payment is due at the workshop before participation.
- Online payment: When available, customers may pay through our authorized payment-processing provider.
For online payments, the checkout may display prices in VND while processing the transaction in USD. The applicable transaction currency and final amount will be disclosed before payment is authorized. Exchange rates and any charges imposed by a customer's bank or card issuer are outside our control.
Optional purchases at the workshop include laser engraving, currently 100,000 VND, and specialty wood upgrades, currently ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 VND. Customers will be informed of the applicable price before agreeing to an optional purchase.
4. Customer Cancellations and Refunds
For reservations made directly with Chopstick Hanoi:
- At least 24 hours before the scheduled workshop: Customers may cancel and receive a full refund of any workshop fees already paid.
- Less than 24 hours before the scheduled workshop: The booking is non-refundable.
- No-shows: Customers who do not attend their reserved session without cancelling are not entitled to a refund.
For Pay on Arrival bookings, no advance payment is collected. Customers should nevertheless notify us promptly if they cannot attend so their reserved places can be released.
Cancellation requests should be submitted through the booking management link provided in the confirmation email or by contacting chopstickhanoi@gmail.com.
The cancellation deadline is calculated using Hanoi local time (UTC+7).
Where a refund is due, it will normally be returned through the original payment method. We aim to initiate eligible refunds within seven business days of confirming the cancellation. The time taken for funds to appear in the customer's account depends on the payment provider and issuing bank.
Reservations made through Viator or another third-party booking platform are subject to the cancellation and refund terms displayed on that platform at the time of booking.
Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory refund or consumer rights under applicable law.
5. Changes to Reservations
Customers may request a change of workshop date or time by contacting us before their scheduled session.
Changes are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Where a requested change cannot be accommodated, the original cancellation policy continues to apply.
6. Cancellation or Changes by Chopstick Hanoi
We may need to cancel or reschedule a workshop because of equipment failure, staff unavailability, safety concerns, severe weather affecting access to the premises, government restrictions or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If we cancel a workshop, customers may choose between:
- Rescheduling to another available session at no additional charge; or
- Receiving a full refund of the workshop fees paid.
If a workshop cannot safely proceed because of extraordinary circumstances, we will contact affected customers as soon as reasonably possible.
We are not responsible for independently booked travel, accommodation or other incidental expenses, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Arrival and Late Attendance
Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled workshop.
Customers who arrive late may have less time to complete their chopsticks. If a late arrival cannot reasonably be accommodated without disrupting other participants or compromising safety, we may treat the booking as a no-show.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you expect to be late.
8. Children and Safety
Our workshop is beginner-friendly and recommended for participants aged eight and older.
Children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. Younger children may participate only where our staff determine that the activity can be conducted safely with close adult assistance.
Participants must follow staff instructions when using hand planes, sanding tools and other workshop equipment.
Laser engraving equipment is operated by authorized staff only. Participants must not operate or interfere with the laser engraver.
We may stop or modify a participant's activity if necessary to protect their safety or the safety of others.
9. Health and Accessibility
Chopstick-making involves seated activity and the use of hands and arms, including shaping and sanding wood.
Customers with mobility limitations, allergies, relevant health concerns or other accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact us before booking so we can explain the workshop environment and discuss reasonable accommodations.
10. Finished Products and Optional Personalization
Each participant will ordinarily take home the pair of chopsticks they have made.
Because the workshop involves natural wood and individual craftsmanship, the appearance, grain, dimensions and finish of completed chopsticks will vary.
Customers are responsible for checking the spelling and content of any text requested for optional engraving before approving it. We will correct engraving errors caused by our staff or equipment where reasonably possible.
11. Customer Conduct
We ask all participants to treat staff, other customers, equipment and workshop premises respectfully.
We may refuse or discontinue participation where a person behaves dangerously, harasses others, deliberately damages equipment or repeatedly disregards reasonable safety instructions.
Any decision regarding refunds in these circumstances will take account of the specific situation and applicable consumer law.
12. Payment Processing and Personal Information
We collect the information reasonably necessary to administer reservations, communicate with customers, deliver workshops, process payments and meet applicable legal obligations.
Bookings may be managed through Bókun. Where online payment is available, payments may be processed through Repayd and its authorized payment partners.
When Repayd processes a payment, customers may also be required to accept Repayd's separate traveler agreement and privacy policy. Those documents govern Repayd's payment-processing and payment-protection services, not the delivery of our workshop.
Further information about how we handle personal information will be provided in our separate Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted, including applicable liability for personal injury caused by negligence or violations of mandatory consumer-protection law.
15. Governing Law and Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of Vietnam, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply.
